The test...

I passed. Unreal. It's over. Almost.

New internship starts Monday at an inpatient detox unit for Mica/Dual Diagnosis. I'm psyched. Scared, but psyched.

The Lazy Professor...

There is one. 1 class that I do not enjoy. Not. At. All. Assessment and Diagnosis. Emphasis on the Ass. Lackluster professor. Anything goes. No lectures. No presentation. Wings it. Week after week. That's what I paid 3 grand for. Right.

They know more than he does. They think. Ask a question and 4 of them respond. He does. Sometimes.

Assignments come and go. Week after week. Some formed "study groups." All of them were right. Every week. All had same answer. All firm in their convictions. I struggled. Still do.

I called one of them to discuss a case. Mine is right. She said. Firmly. I know it. How? I begged to know. The answers are in the book. Not our text book. But. The DSM Made Easy. Cheating? Kind of. Don't tell a soul. She said. Firmly. The answers are in a book the lazy professor uses.

I struggle. Get a 90. They use the book. Get 95. That's what it's all about. Right? Cheat to win. What if? That's what I want to know. What if?

What IF someone walks into your office as a high school counselor because they were caught cheating. What do you do? No big deal. You've done it yourself. Right? What do you tell them? How do you help them? You've done it yourself. You just were smart enough to not get caught?

If a grad student gets caught cheating and comes into your office for counseling as they might be booted from school. What do you say? No big deal. You've done it too. Right? You just didn't get caught. Mmm....

Sometimes I'm embarrassed to call myself a counselor. Sometimes people in my "profession" really are no better than the people they seek to help. Are we supposed to be? I think so.

Sometimes know-it-alls don't know it all after all. They just act like they do. But. They don't. I'd rather struggle than know-it-al. I think. But I secretly envy them. Grades are grades. But it feels better to get a 95 than a 90. It feels better to get an A than an A-. But. I think it feels even better to know I didn't cheat to win.

Only time will tell.

Sexy..

Now this is sexy.

Sexy?

Hilary Duff and her bo named Joel are seen here strolling down a street. Ok. Hilary. I don't get it. She's pretty but duh-am she cannot sing a tune. My 2 year old loves her. Nuff said. She also thinks Barney is the bomb. What's with Hilary anyway? Next! Her bo Joel appears to like the tatoo parlor. What's with tatoo's? I don't get it.

They're Rich and Famous NOT Bright...

Taken from the blog site What Would Tyler Do? www.wwtd.com

The Sun UK has a collection of dumb celebrity quotes today, and here are a few in a little something I like to call, The Worlds Laziest Post.

Charlotte Church : "I love being in America." (while on stage in Toronto)

Jessica Simpson : "Twenty-three is old. It's almost twenty-five, which is, like, almost mid-twenties."

Tom Cruise : "I love kids. I was a kid once, myself."

Paris Hilton : "I hate dead people."

Liam Gallagher : "If I saw an alien, I'd tell it to fuck right off because whatever planet he came from they wouldn't have The Beatles of any decent fucking music."

Greg Norman (professional golfer): "I owe a lot to my parents - especially my mother and father.”

Alicia Silverstone : "I think the film Clueless was very deep. I think it was deep in the way it was very light. I think lightness has to come from a very deep place if it's true lightness."

Beckham (about his son, Brooklyn) : “We're definitely going to get Brooklyn christened, but we don't know into which religion."

The New Rental...

It's kind of pretty. Kind of creepy. Part old. Part new. We're nesting. It feels rather nice.

A fellow stranger blogger friend changed their name recently. Phaggot. I love it. Other readers aren't so keen. I wonder if they are straight? Someone once told me that words are a series of letters strung together to express a thought, emotion, or meaning. We give words meaning. They don't have meanings out of no where. Do they? I guess they do.

I used to hate the word "queer." Odd. Strange. Bizarre. Unusual. Different. That's what it meant to me. To me. Maybe not to you. Why do those words mean me and not you? Because I'm gay and that word has been used to hurt me many many times. It doesn't anymore. I took the meaning away.

I went back to the web page that I left before. Why? I don't know. But. I did. Felt funny at first. Some welcomed. Some raged. Some picked. Some ignored. I haven't been back in a while again. Come and go. Come and go.

Rosie has been sucking up to Oprah for some reason. When O wasn't allowed into Hermes Rosie posted that O needed to get over herself. Now she sucks up to her every now and then. Strange. Celebrity is strange.

Cher's daugther Chastity is doing Celebrity Fit Club 3. She's 100 pounds overweight. I guess. Cher must be livid. Someone asked Cher what she thought of reality TV? I don't watch it. She said. I don't need to see some asshole eating worms. Well. Millions will see her daugther step on a scale and be called fat to compete for money and fame. Sad.

Have an exam this Saturday. My comprehensive exam. 18 possible subjects, 8 possible questions and I have to answer four of them correctly. Essay format. Why don't I care?

Major Depressive. I think I was. Strange. Looking back. It's all so clear.

Diva much?

Mariah Carey's requirement that hotel staff install "new toilet seats" and gold faucets for her hotel suite is nothing compared to Madonna's obligatory bathroom demands. Forget a new toilet seat, Madonna wants the whole package fit for a Pope. When Madonna performed on the German TV show "Wetten, dass..?" recently, she refused to use their toilet facilities. The producers of the show had to crane in Madonna's own personal 200 square foot luxury bathroom onto the set. The unit cost around $4,000 to rent. The luxury bathroom model, also used by the Pope contained two wash bins complete with halogen lighting, two showers, and a separate bathroom. Green Day and Shakira were also at the show, but they used the toilets provided.

Hit the nail on the head...

My horoscope for today couldn't be more accurate it if was written by....well...I don't know but duh-am it's right on the money honey.

Date of Birth: 09/16
You might surprise others with your frank words, MICHAEL. Sometimes you are shy and tactful, almost painfully polite. But right now you might not care what other people think about you. You could feel stirred up by something that is happening in your professional environment. You might want to put your foot down and to rebel a little. Your passionate views and fiery energy could inspire others to make some improvements.

Why do they lie?

That’s Not Accurate: White House Alters Transcript of Press Briefing

There is a brewing controversy about what exactly was said at the White House press conference on October 31. Everyone agrees NBC’s David Gregory said this:

Q: Whether there’s a question of legality, we know for a fact that there was involvement. We know that Karl Rove, based on what he and his lawyer have said, did have a conversation about somebody who Patrick Fitzgerald said was a covert officer of the Central Intelligence Agency. We know that Scooter Libby also had conversations.

Congressional Quarterly and FNS both transcribed Press Secretary Scott McClellan’s answer as “That’s accurate.” The White House transcript lists McClellan’s answer as I don’t think that’s accurate.

Move...

"voters in Texas resoundingly approved a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, making Texas the 19th state to outlaw the practice."

If you're LGBT and live in Texas you need to move. If not, shut up. I don't want to hear you're bitching anymore.

Blah...

It's been forever since I've updated my blog. But. Life is life. Some new things. Some old.

We moved. Again. Ugh. If you want to punish someone for something make them move. Forget prison. Make 'em move twice in one year. Yep. That's the ticket. Hate it. Nice house. Nice neighborhood. Still not gentrified. Loving it so far.

School is school. I hate it. Done with it. Tired of it. Mentally I'm done with it. But. At least another semester for sure. Some "therapist's" are jerks. Some "mental health professionals" have more hang-ups than their clients. Some "social workers" think they know it all. Shut up. That's what I've started saying to "them" in class. Just. Shut. Up. They love to label. Whip out that DSM-IV TR and start writing down numbers and labels. Fuck you. You're a label too. Ever been labelled? Not fun. Ever been assessed? Not fun. Ever had some wing-nut, know-it-all-ass sit across from you and tell you that you are something that you aren't? Not fun. Shut up. Don't read into it. Just. Shut. Up. And. Listen. To. Me. Sounds easy. But. For many in the "field" it's really really hard to do.

I think every mental health professional should be diagnosed with every single disorder in the DSM. Yep. That's what I think.

I'm grumpy today. Tough.

Why do people want to fix people? Why if someone is sad to do they want the person to be happy? If I'm sad. I'm sad. Is that wrong? Is that bad? No. It's not. It's normal. If I were happy all the time you'd ask what drug I was taking and where you could get some. What is normal? Are you normal? I'm not. Was in the DSM not that long ago. Nice. Shut. Up.

I read something about forgiveness the other night. I had to smirk. How do I forgive them for what they've done to me? That was the question. Well. Here's the thing. I'm not sure. Some say you have to forgive yourself first. Then. You can forgive others. Forgive yourself? Yep. Some say you let it happen to you so forgive yourself first. Unless you were forced into it. That is. You chose. You offered. You put yourself out there. Ah. Responsibility. Not fun. It's always all about you.

Lastly. Our former land lady was/is in the DSM-IV TR. Dependent Personality Disorder. I just realized it the other night. Labels. Hate them. Love them. Need them. Can't live with them. Can't live without them. She couldn't make up her mind without talking to her girlfriend first. Took four days to reach a "decision" and then it was "maybe" "I think" "I'm not sure" Simple decisions took days. The thing is. Her girlfriend must have something too. Right? If her girlfriend is dependent then what's her pay off? Interesting.

Later taters.
